We are back at home this weekend after quite the seven days as we welcome Chalfont St. Peter to Tithe Farm Sports & Social Club.

Last weekend we had North Greenford United visiting us and after a poor first 45 found ourselves 2-0 down at the break. 15 minutes after the interval things were worse as we had a player sent off and at that point it looked as if all the points would be going back to Berkley Fields.
That was until Hafid Bounyafe scored an unbelievable 30-yard freekick, marking his first for the club in impressive fashion, and giving us a glimmer of hope. Minutes later and Rahim Jude-Boyd got himself in at the back post to tap in after a brilliant team move which levelled the scoring. The lads battled hard there on and it was hard to tell that we were actually a man down. Then, in the 9th minute of additional time, Connor Spinks was played in and as the calmest man in the ground, expertly slotted home his finish to put us ahead and which then sparked jubilant scenes both on the pitch and the sidelines. It was a breath taking game of football and the boys deserve a lot of credit for their resilience and determination to come back and take all the points from the game.

Tuesday night and we were in Middlesex Senior Cup action away to National League side Barnet who are sitting in second place in their league and the boys put in an incredible effort against a side 90+ places in the pyramid and four divisions higher to only lose 1-0. After conceding in the opening 10 minutes heads could easily have dropped, but they never did and our lads took it to our opposition. The second half we had numerous shots cleared off the line, had the woodwork rattled and on another day that equaliser might have come. Unfortunately, it never did, but what a magnificent effort from the boys, they really done the club, supporters, management and themselves proud on that night and hopefully they enjoyed the occasion despite the result.

This weekend we are back into league action and have Chalfont St. Peter ahead of us. They have been unlucky with their results of late, going down by just the one goal in a couple of recent fixtures and they will be looking to put some of those results to bed against us this weekend. The sides met earlier on this season in the CCFL Challenge Cup with us emerging the winners, though with that being a cup game it is safe to assume that the two sides will be much changed from that day.

Our next game following this is Tuesday night (14/11) and it is when we start our defence of the Middlesex Senior Charity Cup and we welcome Enfield Borough here who we have met countless times over the years from our Spartan South Midlands days, before we travel ‘away’ to table toppers Rayners Lane next Saturday afternoon.
