After a number of games on the road this is our first home league game of the season but oddly enough despite being in the latter days of August this is Holyport’s first league game of the season. We were bested in both of our fixtures against Holyport last season and I am expecting this tie to be another difficult fixture.

After a couple of disappointing results first in the FA Cup and then in the league, we got ourselves back to winning ways last Tuesday night as we contested our first Middlesex Derby of the season away to Wembley and came away with a 1-0 win. Rhys Ellis popping up with a header in the first half. We rode our luck at times but it was a solid defensive display in the second half that saw us come away with all three points.

On Saturday we were in Premier Challenge Cup action away to Chalfont St Peter and after below par first half we took control of the second and after dominating the half we recorded a 4-1 win. Eric Lopes scoring the pick of the bunch with a magnificent bicycle kick in the second half. Unfortunately the result did come at a cost as we did lose Darren Brown to what we now know is a broken wrist and we all wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully we can have him back on the pitch soon.
