2022/23 Award Winners Announced

Awards Night 2022/23

Last Friday night the club held its awards evening in recognition of the achievements of the boys this season. Whilst the season was an up and down one, it definitely finished on a high note with a late surge up the table and a Middlesex Senior Charity Cup Final trophy to go along with it.

A special thank you goes out to all of our sponsors once again this season. Without their support this season and seasons gone by would not have been possible. Along with all of those companies that have contributed, a massive thank you also must go out to all those individuals that have contributed to supporting us not just this season but in seasons gone by too. In the main we would particularly like to thank

AP Security Ltd
GBR Solutions Limited
Hampden Gardens Ltd
Hathaway Builders
McCafferty’s Bar Harrow
The MOT Centre Hatch End
Mountsides Accountants Limited
O’Neill and Brennan Construction Limited
Top Line Management UK Limited

Thank you to Tithe Farm Sports & Social Club for their continued support over the last three seasons and thank you to the Meeting Palace Restaurant in Harrow Weald, for providing the amazing food on the evening and good luck to them as they are nominated for Sri Lankan Restaurant of the year in the 2023 London Curry Awards.

Onto the awards and the lads that took home the honours on the night were as follows;

Kristian Belousas - Top Goal Scorer of the Year

Kristian took home the award this season despite missing our last two months of the season after picking up a season ending injury at the end of March away to Windsor. Despite missing the last 10 games of the season he still made 34 appearances during the season during his debut season for the club.

Unfortunately, Kristian could not attend on the night to collect his award, but we are looking forward to having him back in preseason where no doubt he will be smashing the bleep test as he did last pre-season.

Kristian Swaby - Young Player of the Year

This was the first year we have presented this award as there were a number of players who could have staked a claim for it from our young side. Since joining the club in December Kristian has been an ever present in the side starting all games bar two since February chipping in with 5 goals in the process.

As the season has progressed, so has Kristian. He shows levels of maturity beyond his years and can beat a man with ease. We are looking forward to seeing how his career progresses.

Lewis Batten - Manager’s Player of the Year

Batts, has become a highly popular member of the squad who has really matured as the season has progressed and who has performed better and better each passing game. Pivotal to the club’s end of season success, never moaning, always happy to play wherever he is asked and had a superb sup final performance against his former club.

Unfortunately, he could not attend on the night to collect his award, but his Grandad Archie was present, as he has been all season, to accept the award on Lewis’s behalf.

Calum Rogers - Committee’s Player of the Year

Despite being only 24, Calum has led the club superbly and has set an example to all the boys all season long, being an ever present in the side throughout the campaign. Never has a bad word to say about anyone nor has anyone a bad word to say about him which tells a lot about the character of the man.

Another one who had a fantastic season’s end, in particular the Middlesex Senior Charity Cup semi-final away to Hanwell Town where he was a man on a mission to reach that cup final with a dominant display in the backline.

Jamie Doolan & Rhys Ellis - Joint Players’ Player of the Year

The award voted for by their peers and it could not have been won by two more deserving players. Both of these lads re-signed for the club during the season which just goes to show the impact that they had on their teammates which meant that the vote between them was split.

Doolan has been another one this season that has seemed to just get better as each game has gone by. A dominant midfielder that, when asked, has been happy to play anywhere on the pitch. A well respected leader in the dressing room who had a great personal end to the campaign when he scored his first for the club against Oxhey Jets and followed that up by notching the match winners against both Wokingham & Emmbrook and Harefield United.

Rondo crossed the 50-appearance mark for the club this season after re-joining earlier on in the campaign. He has an unbelievable read and knowledge of the game whose ability to change the outcome of a game is second to none. A great lad to have in and around the dressing he has become a real leader this campaign with some of his heart on sleeve performances he can change a game in an instant, no better example than his rocket of a strike away to Windsor in March.

There were also two special recognition awards for two players that have served the club significantly for several seasons now.

Connor Spinks - 150+ Appearances (153)

First appearance: Away to Codicote on 17/11/2015. Total appearances: 153

Spinksy has not played as much this season for the side as he, or us, would have liked due to injuries and his commitments elsewhere but when he has played, he has more than played his part for the side when available. A monster bullet header in the Middlesex Charity Cup Semi against Hanwell Town, reminiscent of his Spartan League Challenge Trophy Final goal against Risborough Rangers, saw us through to the final on the evening and put us through to the final. He did not manage a goal in that game but his cup final record now sits at played 4, won 4, scored 4.

Since his debut for the club Connor has averaged just over a goal every two games, putting away 72 goals in his 153 outings.

Natalmond Lewis-Robinson - 150+ Appearances (193)

First appearance: Home to Brimsdown on 09/08/2016. Total appearances: 193

Since joining the club in 2016 Nate has been an ever present in the team when available. A reliable centre half who is cool and calm on the ball and more than that is just a great lad who has been an absolute pleasure to have representing our club. Unfortunately injuries have prevented him from reaching these landmarks sooner but when fit and ready is always one of the first names on the team sheet.

We look forward to Nate adding to his 193 appearances this season and crossing the 200 landmark, although we hope that he can add to his goal tally of 2!

In summary, the winners were;

Jamie Doolan & Rhys Ellis – Joint Players’ Player of the Year 2022/23
Lewis Batten - Manager’s Player of the Year 2022/23
Kristian Belousas - Top Goal Scorer of the Year 2022/23
Calum Rogers - Committee’s Player of the Year 2022/23
Kristian Swaby - Young Player of the Year 2022/23
Connor Spinks - 150+ Appearances
Natalmond Lewis-Robinson - 150+ Appearances

Thank you to all who attended on the evening and all who have supported us throughout the season. We look forward to seeing all the boys back in a couple of weeks when pre-season kicks off. Hopefully they make the most of their last few weeks’ rest before the hard work starts again before the end of the month.
