Broadfields United vs Edgware & Kingsbury (8/11/2022)

After picking up a good win on Saturday at home to Harefield United, tonight we now turn our attention to another local derby, this time against Edgware & Kingsbury.

It will be the first meeting between the sides for a number of years now and 'The Wares' currently find themselves sitting in the top half of the table, a few positions ahead of us. When the two sides have met they have always been relatively tight fixtures and I would expect much of the same this evening.

Before the game this evening David Fox had these words to share; "After playing away to the two preseason league favourites we were back to playing at Tithe Farm on Saturday, finally picking up our first home league win of the season against Harefield. The scoreline does not quite reflect how the game played out, when at 3-0 up we had numerous chances to extend that lead further. My only criticism would be that the two we did concede late on were down to mix ups at the back and those are the type of mistakes that we have to cut out.

We continue here today against another local side in Edgware & Kingsbury who have started off the season brightly and who come into he game off the back of three league wins on the spin. It will be a tough test tonight, but if we play like we did in the first 80 minutes of Saturday’s match then I am sure we will give them a good game. As I have said to the boys they need to be more ruthless and clinical in front of goal, otherwise it gives teams a chance to salvage something from the game."
